Storms and coffee; both brewing at my house. One excites and frightens, the other cheers and consoles. Love the distinctive aroma. The soothing sound of steam and drip covers the howl and roar outside. Candles and matches sitting on my hearth. Wood stove's kindling; I think I'm ready. Here we go...
The older I get the more I have come to realize that I am either in the middle of a problem--a storm of life...
...just coming out of a problem-- life storm...
...or about to enter a new problem-- life storm...
...hesitantly, I might add. Of course we fear the next storm. Jesus promises he will be with me in the storm. Why are storms necessary? My guess is, I study and research the Bible and godly things, I might add, is that storms are chances for our faith to grow. In my opinion, faith is "gold" to God. It's our trust and belief in Him; wonderful and faithful Him. I praise God, for these tests, that give me growth and closer times with Him. Are you ready for the next storm? He will be with you. Trust in Him alone.
Luke 8:24b-25
"...He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided and all was calm. 'Where is your faith He asked His disciples?' In fear and amazement, they asked themselves, 'Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him..."
Blessings, Kathi
