Not Too Shabby

I understand and I believe that "Shabby Chic" is in style, but inside me everything revolts. Especially when it happens to be my white wicker front porch chairs. Here is before...
And, here is after white spray paint...
Sometimes I just want my things to be clean and new looking. I love the way my chairs look now with a coat of glossy white. Blessings, Kathi
"For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "You sit here in a good place," while you say to the poor man, "You stand over there," or, "Sit down at my feet," have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which He has promised to those who love him?" James 2:2-5

Kathi, I agree. Your newly painted wicker looks so much nicer to my eye. Anything around my house or garden that is shabby (chic or not!) is that way strictly by accident. :D

It looks really nice. I love the shabby/chippy look, but only with certain pieces. I agree that your chair looks nicer with the fresh paint. Good job!

I love the chair, fresh and repainted! Looks wonderful! I like some things worn, gives them character, but some things just need refreshing! I'm with you on the chair! :) ~Rhonda

Though I love shabby and rusty 'stuff', I must admit your wicker chair does look amazing not all shiny and white.
