Fearless

Christians ought to be the most fearless creatures on this earth. If my right to own a gun may be taken from me I do not fear. I don't think this will happen. If it does, I might be disappointed that I can't target practice, hunt or defend my property, but I don't need to be afraid. Why should I be afraid? Who is out to get me?

We do have a great government. I am thankful for our freedoms I really do not think our govt. will hurt me. If they did, I'd have to ask, "Why would they?" and, "What would they do to me?" Why so much fear out there? I sense that a few Christians are becoming angry and fearful over the things our govt. is doing, to the point of becoming alarmists. I don't want to go there. The Lord said, "Fear not, for I am with you." Isaiah 41:10

My biggest concern as a Christian is that I have not memorized quite ALL of the Bible Yet. There may come a day when my Bible would be outlawed. I am not being an extremist or a ratical in my thinking here. It has been outlawed from school. Is this something to worry about? I think not. It is something to prepare for. That is why we memorize Scripture and have our children doing it. I can calmly go about my day and not be concerned with this. No one could ever snuff out or burn away God's Word, the Bible, Isaiah 40:8 says, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands foreve."

I know that if the govt. should take away my Bible and make it against the law to believe in God, I would still believe. If they said I'd go to jail for it, I'd go. If they said I'd be thrown to the lions I'd be thrown. Daniel did believe even though he was told he should not. He prayed to the Lord God, even though it was against the law.

I am brave. I am brave because of Christ. I am brave, because I choose to share the fact that I am a Christian, while knowing full well the prophesies about Christians, which state that we will be killed and handed over to the authorities. I know there will be a time when these things will happen according to the Bible:

Matthew 24:9 "Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers."

Sometimes Christians seem shocked or worried that these things might occur, when the Bible predicts they WILL indeed happen. You would think that because I know these things are going to happen, that I'd hide the fact that I am a believer. Christ gives peace and assurance to us. He was there with Daniel as the pre-incarnate Christ in the firery furnace. He was with Noah. He was with Joseph. He was with all of the apostles and they all suffered for His name. He will be with me; even if I am thrown to lions, He will be with me.

I do not fear that my gun or my Bible would be taken from me. I hope that my life glorifies the Lord my God and that He will make me brave for Him for whatever happens to me in my lifetime. I may live my whole life in freedom or not. Whether I do or I don't, I will thank Him and praise Him, but I will not be afraid, for He is with me.

Blessings, Kathi

Thank you also for this post. It is such a comfort to me to know others have these feelings. I know I must stand up for what I believe. You are a good witness.
