Believe me if you had daughters rather than sons, you'd be thinking differently about what they do and where they go. It's almost a funny joke we have with the group of guys the girls are friends with. We know all they have to do to be asked over, is to ask our girls to do something dangerous, like go to the big city to a movie after 10:00 pm. They know we will say, "Instead of that, why do you all come to our house and watch a movie on our big screen TV? We will even feed you." Ha ha. And, of course it's true! We want our girls safe and having lots of fun, but protected, under our roof! Tonight, they go to the high school football game and then back to our house with the whole gang; movie, soda pop and popcorn are free; can't beat that. Just trying to be smart parents!

We did a lot of that ourselves. I wanted to be the "hang out" house so that I knew they were having good wholesome fun. Besides which, it's just fun to have my kids around even if I'm stuck in a bedroom watching TV while they take over the family room and kitchen!
Believe me, this happens already with our 9 and 10 year old girls. And our 14, 12, and 7 year old boys, actually. It is just wise parenting.
How wonderful that they all feel comfortable and welcome at your home! I can just imagine that you are a fun, warm, and gracious hostess! I always liked when Ashley and her friends would congregate here...I knew where they were and that they were safe and sound! :)
Your daughters are beautiful girls!
This is how we feel with our boys! I always wanted the parties here! Its really a smart idea. It looks like they are all having tons of fun!
Also, from a mother of boys standpoint, mom's with girls who have parties at their home, please put a decent time limit on it like midnight. I hated it when my sons would be invited to a party way out in the country and it ended at 2, 3 or even 4! We would compromise and say you could stay til 2, but do those parents realize my sons will be so sleepy when they drive home that late? Their girls get to walk down the hall to go to sleep and my boys have a 20 minute drive on windy country roads. Sorry, I didn't mean to go off on this! I'm just say'n...
love, Sharon
