Boys Building A Tree Fort

This is the first week of summer!!! Since our older son begins combining full time next week, he is enjoying this week off building a tree fort with his little brother Garrett.
The boys asked us to bring them lunch. Since we wanted to see their fort, Victoria and I gladly brought some tea and a bite to eat.The goats say, "We want to come too!"
Our beef cows enjoying this day.
I brought Garrett some milk in a water bottle for his lunch. It looks like he's going to feed the goats, but no, they are too old for that. He named the goats "Purr" and "Stack."
Sorry this picture is a bit blurry. Here is the beginnings of a really cool tree fort.
Victoria is almost as sure footed as "Purr."
I love it when the kids go outside and find things to do rather than always on the computer. I do have to encourage this in them, especially since we do get lots of rain and cloudy days.
It's so worth it to keep encouraging children to play outside, even if they sometimes whine and want their computer/game-cube time. Our other daughter Jessica chose to stay inside and missed out. I did ask her to come out and pick peas and weed with Victoria and me and she did that. Mothers, don't fear your childrens' griping, whining and grumpy faces. They need to do work for you to help you, and it's good for them. They also need fresh air, sunshine and exercise. Ask the Lord to help you with this and to give you ideas, and then expect them to do as you ask. Have a wonderful week Dear Friends. "...and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called and are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

I love hearing about your children and life. It is hard to find the balance between micromanaging our children's lives and helping them make good choices and letting them suffer from poor ones. Glad for the outside activity and fort! What great pictures..the goat is precious!

Wow, that tree fort looked so cool. It brought back fun memories when I was kid (before computer days) and I had so much fun outside. Mary is at the age where she just jumps at the chance to go play outside. So now that the weather is nice, we spend a lot of time out in the yard!

Oh, I remember the tree fort on a vacant lot next to us at our other home that all the kids loved to play in! I have always encouraged my kids in creative play and using their imaginations. I think it helps them in all areas of life as they grow and mature. It's funny but my married daughter doesn't even have cable! She plays with her two girls and reads to them. She says that she doesn't miss it at all. She can just watch DVDs when she wants to see something. I hope you share the finished fort with us bz it does look awesome with the two levels!

How fun for the boys to start the summer out with that neat fort. It looks to me like there are all kinds of fun adventures to be found at your place with the goats and cows. How cute they are.

I just read the posts I have missed these last few days. I am so glad to know that the 4 wheeler accident had a good outcome, although I know it had to be very frightening for all concerned.

If I could find a way to have a tree fort at age 30 and get away with it, I totally would. :)

Hi--haven't visited you in ages! Thanks for the stop by to one of my blogs! I agree that now-a-days it is often hard to get the kids outside. Then again I think it depends where you live and how old your kids are! ha! My oldest son who is 29 and lives in the Seattle area is always outside when he is not at work because he loves the mountains, and climbing and soccer. My daughter who is 30 is always outside because her 2 and 3 year old love love love the outdoors! They have a great yard with lots of things to play and imagine. ...including a tree fort--her kids climbed very very early (scares me!).However my youngest son who is 23 has to be pushed out of doors! But the military has a way of making him get out at times!
