Winter Happenings

This is Renovation Hardware, a cool store in Portland. My husband Stacey and I had a blast shopping and eating out in Portland before Christmas.
Stacey and I went to Renovation Hardware to buy towel bars and a toilet paper holder for the new bathroom that I previously posted about. It's a great store to get great ideas. If you are ever in Portland this is a fun store in.
My husband Stacey with our son Garrett at OMSI. We spent the day going to all our old fun stores and places one day Christmas break.
My dear sweet husband fixing my new (used) car, "Pearl." I named her Pearl because she is the color of black pearls, and for my sweet blogging buddy Pearl. I will show you a full picture of "Pearl" when she's washed and it's a sunny day.
Three years ago my husband bought an old Chevy pickup. It was a wreck. It is now in the final stages of being restored by our good friend Josh. I will be posting about this as soon as the truck is complete.
I got to teach ELL to students who have English as a Second Language, and loved it. The teacher asked the kids who she should get for a substitute this coming week and they said ME! I get to go back and sub on Tuesday!! Now that is a complement. I'm thrilled.
Garrett and Jessica having fun at Dairy Queen. I took the kids shopping over the holiday break.
We met our friends Wes and Kristen and their children for dinner during the Christmas break. Wes and Kristen's three children, Elijah, Daniel and Brooke.
Daniel and Brooke, our friend's children, and Harrison, Jessica, Victoria and Garrett eating dinner together.
Garrett lost another tooth.
Our daughter Victoria, her friend Kristen, and our other daughter Jessica dressing in their prom dresses.
Praise report. Our pastor Don and his wife back in the Fall of 2007. Pastor Don has had inoperable cancer in his sinus cavity. Doctors were able to successfully treat him with chemo. and radiation. He is now preaching again. We thank God for this wonderful man. We praise God for bringing him through this difficult journey.
Harrison showing me that he has learned to weld. He and his older friend Luke welded his mini bike. He made a chopper out of it.
Chicken marinating all day for my excellent con pollo pasta. You may find the recipe along my side bar under recipes.
Can you relate? If you are a parent you know all about this kind of thing.
Sometimes kids struggle and we do our best to help them, but they still get this kind of grade.
We had a little bit of this going on this past term. Let's just say we have one more week before the new term begins and we can start fresh with no mistakes.
Garrett learned how to clean a toilet this week. He did very well. I'm proud of him. I hope you have a great weekend dear blogging friends. It's time for me to head back out to the barn to clean it. It's a mess. Love, Kathi "...aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one." 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
