I Drove My 7 Year-Old To School and Ended Up Teaching Dodge Ball All Day.....

This was one unplanned days. Garrett, my seven year old, missed the bus, so I drove him to school. The secretary told me they needed a substitute teacher, "How'd you like to teach P.E. all day? I was dressed for the part, in my sweatshirt and jeans, and had a full thermos of coffee in the car, so I said, "Yes."
I had a whistle, and was allowed to bark orders. Yay! For once I could command these kids to follow the rules, and they had to, or they were out, and they knew it. I informed the kids of the rules of Dodge Ball, reminded them if they stepped over the line, "You are out, until the next game," as I motioned with my hand. "If you hit the teacher; you are out. If you aim and hit someone in the head, you are out," and so on. I had power and authority. This was fun! I must have refereed 30 games in that one day. At the end of the day the kids wanted to know if I was coming back tomorrow, "Cause this was fun," they said.
After a day like that. The first thing I do is take out my contacts to rest my eyes. Since I've been gone all day, I put my hair up to get it out of the way and start a load of wash and straighten things up. Then I start dinner. I decided to show you how I really look most of the time at home. I rarely let you see me with glasses, yet I wear them 85 percent of the time. So here's the real me. I was exhausted after all those Dodge Ball games. I soaked in the tub and put my feet up. The kids cleaned the kitchen. It was a good day. Oh, and by the way, the top picture is of me standing next to "Pearl," my new (used) car. I love her. She's just right for me. I named her Pearl because of her black pearl color and for my blogging buddy Pearl of Pearl's Sentimental Journey. Have a lovely day today ladies. I found this verse this morning, "Thou will keep him in perfect peace, him whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee." Isaiah 26:3

You look adorable Kathi! You are always so cute. You are so tiny! I am so happy that you had a good day. It's neat that the kids like you so much! How many days a week are you working now? It's neat how it has all worked out. I love your new car! It's beautiful and Pearl is the perfect name for her!

Love you! Sharon

Kathi, you are so cute. If this is the way you look 85% of the time, then you should go with it!

Hey, Isaiah 26:3 is my theme verse for my Mexico blog! I love that verse.

Kathi,

You cannot be 48!! You and Sharon have the best genes, seriously! What adorable mamas. :o) What a fun day referring dodgeball! I remember when my best friend once went into school to sub for Kindergarten and ended up as the gym teacher...and she'd brought her pet rabbit in to show the kids that day, so "Lily" got to play along with the little ones in gym class. :o)

Hi Kathi sweetie! I've missed reading about what you and your lovely family have been up to while I was away on holiday, but I'm back and catching up now! I think you look really lovely with your glasses on, and I love your hair up that way! You look like a woman in her 20's in these photo's! Also, a belated happy birthday to your handsome son Harrison! Wishing you a terrific day dear friend!

That does sound like a fun way to sub. AND it does sound very tiring!!! I don't know how mom's work outside the home---it has to be very tough!

I wanted to ask you a question...I have been enjoying several of Omaritan's praying books---I wanted to know if the one about praying for your kids was mainly for young kids. Mine are grown--I can use a lot of the prayers that are in the praying woman and the praying wife to pray for others...but I was wondering about the praying parent one---could you answer me at my blog???

Hi Kathi... Ohhh I was so happy to see "Pearl" all sparkling and you next to her! I smile when I think about her special name; thank you, my sweet friend ~Hugs~

Loved hearing about your work-day, too... it warmed my ♥ at how the kids wanted you to come back! Also, I think you're such a beautiful woman, with or without glasses... with hair up, hair down... dressed up, or in jeans... your beauty shines all around you and comes from within your kind heart 'n soul, too. Thanks for the verse in this post... it was exactly what I needed to read... Hope you and your family are doing well... God bless...

~hugs, love ♥ 'n prayers~
