Painting the Bookshelf Day 2

I'm very happy with the way this room is becoming more and more cozy, brite and happy.
The shelf is finished and I couldn't me more pleased.

We still are awaiting the mantel for our fire place, which our neighbor is building.
I will show you the final results after new carpet too. This carpet is over 30 years old. We just found out that they don't make it anymore because it is so dangerous. If it catches fire it produces a deadly gas which kills you to breath. Can't get the new stuff fast enough!

Bless you all dear ladies and have a lovely restful Sunday. Kathi

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Nice job...and isn't Monday the pantry after day? Can't believe I even remembered that.

The shelf looks beautiful Kathi. I can see why you're happy with it. I would be worried about the carpet too and would want to get rid of it too. I can't wait to see the final pictures.

That is a beautiful built-in bookshelf! I love the crips white paint. I've decided to do all my sewing furniture in white. Someday soon I'll have a sewing "room" and not a sewing "nook" like I presently carved out for myself in my family room! The whole family will be glad when it's gone bz it makes the family room so much smaller. The down side is Travis will be gone for two years when I get my sewing room bz I'll be using his room. In that respect I guess I'm fine with the sewing nook. Glad you can get new carpet that won't be a noxious danger if you ever have a fire. Cindy

It really does look fabulous!!! I bet you felt such feelings of accomplishment to finish that. And then the best part is figuring out what to put back on the shelves.
Great work!

Your bookshelf is so beautiful. I have a similar cabinet in this old house that I did that to about 4 years ago, and I love it now....so fresh and cheery!

Kathi,
It is absolutely beautiful. Now I'm gonna make a tiny suggestion...what about decoupaging some wonderful vintage scrapbook paper on the back of those shelves? But is fabulous either way. I'm always trying to tell people what to do.
