Pantry After....

As promised I'm showing my before and after pictures of my pantry. Please go over to Tiffany's blog "But I Had A Tiara" where she hosted the "Pantry Raid." She has a very orderly pantry, which is well stocked. I'm so excited I can finally show you the neater version.
The light is streaming through the window like sunbeams from heaven shining on this now organized pantry, which you can actually walk into now.
There is a place for everything. It makes sense and that silly ol' vacuum cleaner has a new home. Remember last week's before picture:
I'm still embarrassed to show you this side of me. How did I let it get this bad? Shame on me.
I found these containers at WINCO for cereal. I appreciate that they look nice and less mess.
I've debated about painting in here, but I kind of like the way it is. All the different women who lived here contributed to these chips in the paint. I love having the counter top and drawers. I appreciate this pantry soooo much.
I have so many canning rings and these drawers really help.
I've done quite a bit of canning this year. I didn't can corn or beans, but froze them. I did make a lot of applesauce, salsa, berry jams and pickled beans. I thank God for providing for our family. I am so thankful that this pantry is full of food.
I so appreciate the rack on the back of this door. It provides just that much more space.
I tried to keep like things together such as baking, paper products, condiments, and canned goods.
I appreciate that the shelves go up to the ceiling for things I use less often.
This floor looks like it was from the forties. I really don't know how old it is, but I love it because it reminds me of my grandma's kitchen. 1Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in orderly."

I am in awe! I love the old look. It is cool to think of the women over the years who used it. Well done. I'm still putting off my bathroom cupboards. hmmm

Your pantry looks beautiful! I would take it messy OR clean because it's so big though LOL

I love what you did with the shelves in the living room, but for goodness sakes... get new carpet! I don't want to lose you!!

I love your pantry! I love the green linoleum floors and the drawers and the window! *Someday* when I remodel our kitchen I would like to have a butlers pantry. It would be so nice not to have to go to the cold garage for pantry items!
Thanks for sharing yours. You did a great job organizing! Want to come do my little one?!:~}

I agree with Heather... what a fabulous and functional space you have! I'm just slightly envious because I don't really have a pantry. But I did take some after pics of my faux-pantry spaces and may post them this evening.
I love the cereal containers you found, may have to copy you!

It looks wonderful Kathi! It is so organized and beautiful! You will be able to find everything so easily and also do your inventory when it is time to go to Winco! I am coveting your pantry! It is a good covet though! :0)

Love you!

Love, LOVE, LOOOOVE it! I would be sad if you painted it or covered that floor. It looks so quaint and almost poignant now, as is. Your home canned goods add to that feel too, and are so gorgeous. Thank you for joining me in the Pantry Raid!

Wow! That is quite a contrast. Your pantry looks great and I'm really impressed with the home canning. My mother used to do a lot of canning. The floor brings back memories too. It is almost like the floor in my mother's house except it has a little white in it. Their house was very old and the floor was very old. I don't really know how old. They moved there in 1960 and it was very old then.

Charlotte

Wow, Kathi, you did such an AMAZING job! We don't have a pantry at this new place we moved to and I really miss having one :( I LOVE how your organizing project turned out!

Happy Tuesday!

Our pantry gets to looking like your 'before' picture now and then-(but our vacuum would never fit in ours- too small!) I think they get a lot of use I suppose is why. Yours is an amazing pantry! You must live in an old farmhouse- how wonderful is that!! I love the floor too! I would never ever change it either! I think I need to get my pantry organized - lots of extra baking and cooking coming up soon-thanks for the inspiration!

I bet this is just off your kitchen too and that would be heaven! Mine is in the basement. I love the racks on the door, what a clever use of space. You have so much room in there too with the shelves being spaced perfectly. I found when I did the huge garage sale that I had old Tupperware containers I really wasn't using. I put them in my pantry and labeled them with things like "Jello" or other things that bugs can get in. My gravy mixes are in one also. I normally wouldn't have done this but I had the containers and didn't want to get rid of them as they were still good and would keep bugs out! Just an idea. Your pantry is absolutely awesome though!! Great job.

I think this weekend I am going to make Shawn build more shelves for ours ! Wont he be excited !
I wouldnt paint the pantry, it speaks of all the other women who kept there goods in there. It has many stories to tell if it could !

Looks so much better. I love the old time tile. I think you should leave it. It's antique. You are going to leave it, aren't you? I love that it reminds you of Grandma.

Kathi! I LOVE the vintage pantry! Oh what i would give for one like that!! ANd the floor is the first thing i noticed! I LOVE IT TOO! My home is decorated very 1940s, and my previous house had the red and yellow tile like yours. Our current home has ceramic tile floors and i hate them. I'm wishing for the 1940s tile again :) rosemary (ps i wouldn't paint, love the way it looks)
