This is the kindergarten classroom I taught in yesterday. All went very well except for a naughty little boy named Matt. Matt refused to listen or obey three teachers. The more we rebuked; the more naughty and boisterous he became. He would not listen when Miss Sarah asked him to get his backpack, but....
He did listen to "Miss Dailey" my puppet. When he heard that Miss Dailey wanted to see that backpack, he went running to get it. You see Miss Dailey is five years old and very shy. She's afraid that all the other kindergarteners will laugh at her. Matt loved her and would do "anything" for her ~ smile!
Miss Dailey did get to see that backpack. She did get to see Matt write his name on his paper, and line up quietly at the door. Matt got lots of hugs and kisses on the cheek from Miss Dailey. What a wonderful day it was teaching Matt and all the other sweet kindergarteners. I thank God for Miss Dailey and for Matt. "Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation." Cindy, I can't write back to you. it says I must be asked to be able to look at your blog. Help. Kathi
How clever!! Thats pretty neat Kathi:)You made a sweet memory for that little boy. You are so gifted.
What an awesome technique!! I'm totally going to remember that for my kids who decide to be stinkers for the day....they all have those days. Great job working through Matt's tough shell.
Thank goodness for Miss Daily finding that sweet spot inside of Matt's naughty hide.
Oh,so cute. I need to get one of those for my new grand baby. :)
I'm sure that Matt's mom is so very thankful for you. I have a son that I'm sure will be a "Matt" next year in kindergarten. Like Matt, he will need just the right teacher to ensure that he is getting through his day with success instead of trouble. Means so much to the mom and child. God Bless You!!!

What an awesome teacher you are! That is a great story!
P.S. Again - I don't have an email from you to put in my blogger invited reader list. I just assumed if people didn't give me an email that they didn't want to visit me any more! Send it to the email I put in above and I'll add you and send you an invitation. Just make sure it's the email you log into blogger with. If you send it to that email it's private and no one will see it but me. Hope to hear from you soon!
As Matt grows, he will always remember Miss Dailey and how kind she was. Good thinking. I really believe there are very few truly naughty children. Some just need extra love. You are truly blessed in that you knew exactly how to reach this darling little boy.
I have an award for you, please come by and pick it up:))
What a great way to snap a little one out of a bad day. Cute! :)
What a great idea to have a cute puppet like that! You really turned the situation around in the best way possible.
I enjoyed reading about your special time with your daughter at the cafe. She sounds like a wonderful young woman.
And happy belated birthday wishes to your son Garrett. Glad he enjoyed his special day so much. Little boys are such fun!
What a cute story! I love that little puppet, "Miss Dailey", she is so cute. What a great mentor you have with that teacher, she sounds wonderful! I am glad that Miss Dailey was able to reach Matt!
Have a happy weekend!
Love, Sharon
Hi Kathi! Miss Dailey did save the day. I was so good that you thought to use Miss Dailey in that way! I hope Matt's lesson will last. I got tickle that you thought my story was good. I have often told myself that I should write a book because I have a very vivid imagination but I don't think I could come up with a novel length story. Thanks! Deb
What a sweet story with a happy ending. I'm happy Miss Dailey reached Matt...it was a good day for all...hugs, Linda
What a sweet story, what a special touch you have. You seem to have found your calling. I'm so happy for you, Kathi.
What a great story! You are doing a marvelous job!
Love,
Kelly
