Schmitty our Kitty

Several months ago Schmitty, our kitty, was hit by a neighbor's car going 55 miles an hour. Schmitty's life (I don't know which one) was looking quite grim. He lay by the fire day and night. We force-fed him water and chicken broth with an eye-dropper. The sweetest thing occurred. Blackie, came and lay next to Schmitty by the fire. She stayed with him night and day. She licked him and comforted him. This reminds me of how we believers come along side one another to comfort and encourage. You dear blogging ladies are that way for me. I want to thank all of you who regularly visit me, even when I have felt so blue, that I did not feel up to returning your visits. Thank you so much. I am HUMBLED each time I come back to my computer, knowing I owe each one of you a visit, and don't deserve you to even look at my blog, yet you HAVE visited me, and you left the sweetest notes and kind comments. Bless you ladies.
Here is Schmitty today. He runs and jumps. He climbs trees and does as he pleases. The teen-age girl who hit Schmitty felt so bad. My only concern is she comes from a family of 10 children, and he only has 9 lives...God is so good to give us His Word for comfort and strenth. He gives us friends for encouraging words too. I'm so blessed to have you blogging friends. "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary affliction is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 God bless you today Ladies, Kathi

That bit about the 10 kids and 9 lives made me chuckle. Is she the oldest? Maybe schmitty should become an indoor cat....
By the way, I love to read your blog because it is always so encouraging. Even when you don't feel it. God bless you as you have blessed me.

Such a sweet sweet post. Thank you dear friend. And I am so glad that the kitty made it. That is too precious about the other cat lying beside him...that might have made all the difference.

Julieann

P.S. I am just telling you this to let you know, I do comment a lot, but forget to make sure it went through!

Kathi, this post was so encouraging to me today. I dont know if I'm just overly emotional, but I shed a few tears for Schmitty's sweet story. And the Bible verse was just what I needed. Thank you.

Kathi, what a lovely post, Im so glad your cat has received a healing, and very encouraged that the Lord has also placed in the animal kingdom those which take care of the others. Thanks for the award, you are such a kind and giving person. Now Kathi we all know that if all we do is blog, we would never get anything done, :O) and we all have other work to do. Deb

What a sweet story. I am glad he is ok! I wrote about my own cats last weekend. We are moving to a new house and adjusting the outside cat will be a struggle I fear. I am glad he is o.k.
Thanks for the encouragement.
And what a cute, sweet award for all your friends. I think it was a wonderful idea!
BTW I feel nostalgic listening to your choice of music. Smiles. Sherry

That is such an adorable story about the kitties. How touching. I'm the youngest of 10...I wonder how many lives our cats lived through! Kathi, you are such an inspiration to me. I've been overwhelmed here on the home front. I haven't been able to visit my sweet blogging friends or leave a comment. I have tried to keep my posting going though. Thank you so much for blessing me with this award. You are so beautiful. I feel your mother heart for your children, and I'm sure we are kindred spirits. Love, Rachel

What a sweet story. I feel for the girl who hit the kitty it would be so hard to deal with. Blackie sounds so sweet. We have a black cat too. But he can be quite a little devil.
