Happy Coincident

Excuse me please, this photo, uh-hem, is the spot above my toilet in my stark white bathroom. I needed some color, so I gathered some art.

I purchased the wall art awhile back and was so pleased that it matched my son's little ceramic pot that he made in high school. Sometimes things match without effort. I love that.  And, I like the sweet kitty thrift find. In real life I believe I have no coincidental happenings. Being a Christian, I believe that when I bump into an old friend it's because God wanted us to meet again. I heard it once said, by a godly woman named Cheryl Brodersen, that our mishaps should be given over to God for His purposes, for His glory. Lay them down in prayer before the Lord. So even when something odd happens, good or bad, but especially disagreeable, I am to ask God about it. Talk to Him. Say, "I don't understand, but I will trust You." When I do that, very soon, and almost always, that disappointing thing; flat tire, or other, turns out to be the answer to a different thing that I had been praying about. For example, because of the flat, I bumped into someone I knew, and who I had been praying for, at  Les Schwab. That was no coincident! That was the Lord, answering my prayer in a round about way, that built my faith, because I trusted in Him.
If you have not read the true story about Joseph being sold to the Egyptians, please do. It is found in the book of Genesis around the 37th chapter.
His brothers hated him. They sold him. He became a slave in the land of Egypt. He was afraid, but he prayed and trusted that God was with him.
After 20 years, God promoted him to being 2nd in command, next to Pharaoh. His brothers were starving because God had sent a famine in the whole world, but Egypt had grain. They had to buy it from their brother Joseph. Joseph forgave them, which is a beautiful picture of how we are forgiven, when we repent and humble ourselves before the Lord Jesus.

~ A fitting Scripture from the Bible will accompany each post. ~

"Now the Ishmaelites had taken Joseph to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, one of the king's officers, who was the captain of the palace guard. The Lord was with Joseph and made him successful..."        Genesis 39:1-2

  Blessings, Kathi

I know the story of Joseph well. He is one of my favorite people in the Bible.
Absolutely agree with you about there being no coincidences!!
