Our Precious Puppy Was Hit By A Car...

Adorable Smokey. Beautiful little pup. He was hit by a car on Sunday and killed instantly. Garrett had his back turned to get the ball and heard the sound, but did not see the accident. The lady cried, and we assured her it was not her fault. We all comforted each other. Garrett was such young man. After he cried he said, "I need to bury my dog," and he did. This is the way it is with dogs: They are loyal and and show us more love than we show them. I did not deserve such a darling dog. I pray we can learn from Smokey and value each day we have with our  pets. I'm thankful we had him for as long as we did. I have no Biblical grounds for saying this, but I believe that if your animal was important to you, than it's important to God. He will make sure you see him again one day in Heaven. This is a comfort for me. I think it was my dad who comforted me with those words when I was a child when my kitty died.
"Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 7:17
Blessings, Kathi

I am so sorry Kathi. My prayers go out to Garrett and you all. You are so right about them being so loyal and loving their families more than we seem to show them.

Having lost our 14 year old beloved mutt last summer, I fully understand your grief. But, we were expecting Dorje's death. Your little guy wasn't ready to go yet. My thoughts are with you and especially your son. Oh, how difficult it must be for him.

I am in tears reading about Garrett and Smoky. Billy Graham says that he believes our beloved pets will be in heaven. He thinks this is so because God wants us to be happy there and our pets bring us so much happiness and joy. This thought makes me very happy!
