Garrett starts school this morning. His backpack is ready with lunch and school supplies safely tucked inside. He knows who his new teacher will be. He knows many of the names of students in his class. He is ready to begin this new year. We did not worry about who his new teacher would be. We prayed every day for Garrett's new classroom. We trust the Lord that He put Garrett into the best classroom for him to thrive this year. I did not stew, worry or fret. I prayed. I'm so happy and at peace for this new year ahead. One specific thing we prayed for was that the teacher would allow the kids to draw and to talk with one another; to have talking time during the class time. We also prayed that Garrett would be a leader and helper in this classroom and that it would have a family feel in that room. We prayed that whoever the teacher was that he/she would love the children and have patience with them. Garrett is in a whole different group this year, other than his previous school years. I believe God has placed him where he needs to be. I will let you know what happens. I will miss all of my children, but I know it is time for the new year to begin.
Blessings, Kathi "Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 9:10

I can't think of a nicer way to send our children out into the world; praying daily for them :)
Kathi, I, too, strongly believe in the power of prayer over our children! I witnessed it first hand when Ashley started college in August, and SO many prayers were answered! I was watching Charles Stanley Sunday, and he said to pray Colossians 1:9-14 over our children. Just prayed it over your little guy! Hope all goes well for him this year! :) ~Rhonda
