We've been playing card games and keeping the wood stove burning lately. One Sunday Harrison invited Nikki, his girlfriend to church and then to stay all afternoon.
I'm so thankful for my children and the friends they have chosen. I have tried hard to keep things running smoothly and happily while my husband has been on a business trip.
Harrison and Nikki walking into church.
Jessica, Victoria and Victoria's boyfriend Gabriel walking into church.
Garrett would rather go to his Sunday school class, but today was family church, so kids sit with their parents. He was a little disappointed, but then found out he got to sit by his friend Kyle, so he was so happy. Vivian and me singing in church. This photo is clearer than the next one, but I kept
this blurry one because I like our smiles better.
After church we ate at a pizza parlor than played Taboo by the fire.
Jessica and me playing Taboo.
Gabriel and Victoria by the fireplace.
In other news, Garrett had his Christmas program at school so we went out on one of the freezing nights to watch him. It has been hard on me doing things without my husband here. I feel for single mothers. Stacey, my husband does not have to travel too often, but when he does I find myself trying to stay on schedule and keep the kids doing all the normal fun things.
All of the children did so well. We love our little school. Our state has a very important vote coming up in January. Please pray for us that the measure will pass so that our schools can keep running. I know it's hard on corporate America, but I'm going to pray that they will decide education is more important than saving money and would be willing to be taxed for it. Our little school might close if this does not pass. I try not to get political on my blog, but I will for this issue by asking for prayer. Thank you so much. We watched Jessica sing in her jazz choir. They are amazing. We are so proud of her and she looked so pretty in her blue dress.
This time Garrett watched his sister perform.
Another shot of our livestock during the cold snap.
The chickens are so happy the temperture has gone up. They are laying better this week.
My holly tree. I wish I had about 20 of these and knew how to make wreathes for selling.
Victoria is taking a photography class and she and her friends enjoy snapping photos of each other during lunch. She and her friend Emily get pretty creative at times.
I love this one.
My next post will be about Christmas over at Sharon's house. I look forward to sharing that with you. Her home is so pretty and she worked so hard to make everything so nice for us. Now I am off to finish last minute Christmas preparations. We are all so awaiting my husband's safe return from India. Please pray for his safe return. God bless you Dear Blogging Friends. Love, Kathi "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." Romans 12:10 and 11

Love all of the pictures and the happy faces!! I think my fav is also the one of the kids jumping.
Thanks for your prayers and concern for us up here. It is difficult in a community as small as ours where the murdered and the murderer are both members of the community. It is hard on everyone.
My niece still has time left but I do not know how much. She was very ill last week and her husband thought she would not be coming home from the hsptl then.
Stacey home yet? I follow a photo blog of a fellow from India. If you ever want to see some amazing pictures, click on Owais Zarger on my side bar.
I can't wait until our hens start laying. Hopefully this spring...I love the picture of your cows. They look so big next to the goat.
Kathi, you are a wonderful mom and have such a great family...you must be so proud of them. I enjoyed all the pictures, especially the family ones at church. I also love your holly bush, it's beautiful...hugs, linda
The nicest thing about all the pictures? The girls have all thier "bits" covered- shirts cover cleavage and belly buttons- and all the boyfriends and girlfriends have thier hands in appropriate places. It is encouraging for me, coming in your wake, to see that it is possible to raise wholesome, Godly families in this Godless era.
I love seeing what you're up to! This was full of news on everyone. I do hope that your school gets to stay open and I'll pray for you that it does. Sometimes smaller definitely is better. I try not to get political too on my blog (except my traditional 9/11 posts) but sometimes no one knows if we don't tell them what's happening in our little corner of the world. Merry Christmas Kathi!
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
I pray that your husband gets home safely. My hubb is stuck in a snowstorm right now. He should have been home last night around 9. If he makes it home by 9 tonight, he'll be lucky. :(
Lot's of great shots. I love the jumping one.
