He got to wear it at school for their Halloween party. He liked it because is slipped on and off easily.
He's playing pin the nose on the pumpkin. I will tell you that I was just a few seconds away from purchasing a $30 costume, when my daughter said, "Let's call home and see if Garrett would want this." We did and Garrett said, "No, Mom. I want a simple home-made robot costume. I was delighted. His outfit cost $2.75.
We all decided to carve pumpkins with my husband on Saturday.
We made some pretty silly faces.
Grandma was staying with us and enjoyed seeing the activities.
Of course we all wanted to smell that good pumpkin smell. The slime and the seeds go along with this activity and amazing young and old alike.
As a child, I loved doing this with my dad. It was a big deal and always fun.
We grew lots of pumpkins in our garden so we had quite the choice for our carved ones.
I just love that pumpkin smell. It brings back so many happy memories.
Here they are all finished.
Now it's time for Garrett to go "trick or treating." We took him to the market and said hi to our friends. They were very generous.
We saw our good friend Tammy and her family.
My husband and I had fun walking Garrett to lots of houses.
Our son Harrison was staying with his friend Logan. They handed out candy for the children and gave Garrett quite a lot. It was fun seeing them along our journey. Josh 1:9............ "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,

Very creative. Looks like fun.
How cute!
Got to like the 2.75!
My Mom never made us costumes or carved pumpkins, or really helped us in that way. It's so cool to see what a little effort and creativity can do!
What a great costume! The pumpkins you grew were amazing. So big and so beautiful. Pumpkin carving brings back fun memories from my childhood too. Have blessed day dear friend. Hugs, Elena
cute idea for the robot costume! love all the carved pumpkins :)
Garrett's costume is so cute and creative! Looks like you had a good time!
Is that a parking meter I see by you when you're sitting carving the pumpkins?! How cute is that. There is no fun in the world like family fun! I'd rather spend a day with my family than doing anything else! I see the same goes for you and your family.
Love his costume! It looks like such a fun family time! You guys are all so cute and loving! You are blessed!
Hugs, Shar
When you made the robot costume, did you use hot glue to adhere the bottle caps to the pan? If so, did they stay on well? Also, how did you connect the shoulder straps to the pan? I'm wanting to make a bunch of these for a music program costume. Thanks for the great and simple idea!
Reenie, As I remember I used duct tape for the shoulder straps (two piece facing each other so that the sticky part is on the inside and won't stick to the shoulders. I used more of this tape to attach the straps to the foil. I used Elmer's liquid glue over night to dry. Hot glue would be quicker. All the best to you. Kathi
