Garrett's Birthday

We are so happy to celebrate Garrett's 7Th birthday. We celebrated last week and I wanted to share the photos with you. Garrett is filling out the birthday questionnaire.
This is the questionnaire that my sister Sharon made and gave me a copy. Garrett told me what he wanted for breakfast, lunch and dinner on his birthday. Harrison kept Garrett occupied early in the morning while the girls, Victoria and Jessica, and myself, decorated. I don't know what I'd do with out my daughters' help. I appreciate them so much. I appreciate Harrison for playing with Garrett while we did the decorating.
Victoria and Jessica did such a great job of helping me decorate for Garrett. Notice the light colored wall. If those decorations were not up it would be plain. The truth is I have a decorating dilemma. I have never put anything on that wall except one tiny picture, which looked out of place. Soon I'll do a post about that wall and ask opinions.
We made French toast for his birthday breakfast. He loves this.
Finally the moment arrived to shout "Happy Birthday." Victoria couldn't resist picking him up. Garrett loved it. We had the Birthday plate ready for him. My husband put a few creepy crawlies on his plate for fun. Garrett is always trying to scare us with these by placing them in the fridge and cupboards.
Garrett being served sparkling cider. "King for the Day."
Garrett was pretty excited. Now time to open gifts.
Garrett got an erector set. This is one of his very favorite presents.
Garrett and Daddy made some pretty cool things. After church we went to McDonald's. That is what Garrett wanted for his lunch. We ended up taking a few extra kids with us; Ann Marie, her brother Mark, and Abby in the back seat.
Now time for Garrett's evening meal. He chose spaghetti, garlic bread and salad, with more sparkling cider.
Abby spent the night with us and enjoyed Garrett's pasta meal as well. We put his food on the birthday plate again. I didn't get any good pictures of him with his cake. I was bummed about that. I hope you all have a great week. I'm teaching quite a bit. Love, Kathi

I posted this once and Blogger freaked. Well, I was pretty much waxing on about what a good mom you are, what sweet memories Garrett and your whole family will have and how much effort you went to to make it special. Beautiful!

Hello Sweet Kathi!

What a wonderful birthday Garrett had! So many sweet touches of love & kindness throughout the day for him. It reminds me of when our 4 children were young and we did special things as you have done. Keep it up Kathi, you are an awesome Mommy! How blessed your children are!

What a great birthday celebration. I had an erector set as a child too. I loved it! Yep- I was a tomboy-LOL. I think that birthday questionnaire is a great idea. I wonder if it is to late to start that with my boys? Happy Late Birthday to Garrett. He looks so happy in all the pictures! You have such a great family.
