I have always been attracted to this delicate style. I have come by and drooled over it many times.
This small stretch of rot iron graces a lovely old white church in our town.
Most of the new wrought iron I've seen is a heavy duty, very sturdy type. I'm sure it is meant to hold up to a person climbing over it, or to keep intruders out. The antique wrought iron is delicate and meant mostly for its beauty, but I'd think that the spikes would do the job of slowing down
the person climbing over. I'm sure many britches had to be mended by mothers of naughty boys back in the old days. This is one of my loves and joys. It's a desire I have, but not a need. If I never get one this side of Heaven, I know in my heart one is waiting for me at my mansion that Jesus promised me.
Have a lovely day. Hugs from me, Kathi "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also will be there with me."

how cute... I love the look and whimsy of it. Can I come visit your mansion and garden in heaven??? I think I'd like it there too ;-)
I love that too and I bet it shares many memories.
That's really pretty Kathi. I hope that one day you will be able to get one on your pretty farm.
Thanks for calling me yesterday. I will try to call you in a little while. I am doing really well. We just got back from Kenzie and Brittany's house. They opened all their wedding gifts. Wow....people were so generous and gave such lovely gifts. It was fun.
Have a great evening!
Love, Sharon
beautiful WROUGHT iron.
I can see why you like it so much. It has a lot of character. I'm glad to be back reading your blog.
Hugs,
Judy
I love those types of fences too. You just don't see them anymore. Great post.
I love these beautiful old wrought iron fences too! Thanks for stopping by and visiting me. Hope today is a good one for you. Cindy
I just love thos kind offences as well. I have taken to buying a few old fashioned wrought iron lamps! LOL!
I agree that is a beautiful fence. Have a great day! Elena
We have a community garden that my neighbor started. She found several mis-matched pieces of fencing similar to this, put them all together and it's beautiful! Oh by the way - there was a company out here that advertised "ROD Iron" fencing! LOL
