Photo Shoot for My Headliner

A few weeks ago our daughter Jessica was kind enough to help me create my new headliner. We both got on the four-wheeler with my props in the front basket.
Gotta have that Diet Coke and a favorite fashion magazine.
Jessica offered to drive me. She's a great driver.
She does scare me a bit by going kinda fast.
We drove way out into the back field. It took about 10 minutes to get to the part of the creek I wanted to be for this picture.
Away we go across the field.
Almost there. Now we had to climb down through the thicket. Down the bank to the creek.
Here we are. I love this part of our creek because it has a rocky and sandy bottom instead of mud. I feel like I'm in a fairy land down here.
Okay, Jessica has the camera and begins shooting. Take one. Ooops, I'm not ready.
Take two.
Take 3.

Take 4, and it's a keeper.
Okay, time to go back. Our whole family came down here a week before this photo shoot. We took tons of excellent pictures, and I accidentally erased them. I was so sad. I was so grateful to Jessica for helping me retake these shots. The original ones had my husband with me.
Up the steep bank we climb out of there.
We're zooming across the field again. She is really not speeding too fast. She is actually a careful driver. I will be honest with you. Jessica is 13. She didn't want to take my picture. She had other things she would have liked to do. She did this even though she did not feel like it. Thank you sweet Jessica. I love you.
Another 10 minute ride back to our house.
Thank you Jessica. I appreciate your great photography and for spending your time to do this for me. I love you, Mom "Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Kathi,

I'm sorry that you are getting the blues about school starting and that you won't be homeschooling anymore. You are right that it has to do with you losing your identity as a homeschool teacher. There is also a lot more going on. It's your identity as a mother because things are different and they don't need you as much. Also, all your little babies are growing up and that in itself can be so sad.

You are wise to give yourself some time to cry. You really do need to go through the greiving process. When I went through it, when I was in the worst part, I found books on grieving and they really did help me a lot. God is with you and He will help you. It will get better. You have so much to offer and so much ahead of you. Life is still really awesome, just different. Remember how as a child you didn't want to go from grade school to middle school, how we just wanted to stay in our comfortable worlds and stay children? We had no idea what kind of a wonderful world that laid ahead for us! Boys! Fun! Freedome! Knowledge! Driving! Jobs! Getting Married! Having babies! So just remember that there is a lot ahead you just don't know about it yet!

You will do fine. Call me if it gets real bad for you though sweetie.

Love you so much!
Shar
