Brunch With Grandpa and Grammie

We had a combination birthday brunch and Mother's Day for my parents on Saturday.

We had a lovely brunch at 10:00 am
The kids enjoyed those waffles!
So did I, and I'm using one of my favorite coffee cups!
My husband loves to add Tobasco.
I finally was able to give Mom her Mother's Day gifts and Dad gets his Birthday gifts.
Then we all got in the car to zip off to Jessica's piano recital.
This was her first piano recital. She was a bit nervous.
She play very well. We are proud of her.
Jessica with her piano teacher, Correen.
Mom and Dad driving back home. I'm so thankful to God,for my parents and the fact that Dad is able to drive again!

I love reading about other's families. For some reason, my [nuclear] family was never 'close', but with my family I strive for that closeness! Fun post! Have a great day!

It sure looks like you guys had a great day! MOm and Dad look so cute! Your home is so lovely, warm and cozy Kathi! I wish I would have known about Jessica's recital, I would have loved to hear her! She looks so pretty sitting at the piano! I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!

I love you!

Sharon

P.S. Kenzie and Brittany produced their first album! Their name is Voice to Spirit and the album is soooooo good! It makes me cry. God has been so faithful and answered my prayers about Mackenzie and his future wife! I cannot believe it! Why should I worry about stuff.....God really does answer prayers!

Kathi,

Your parents look so sweet! They look like they had a lovely day, brunch to recital! I remember my children's first recital. It is a nervous time but once they started playing, the music soothed their nerves (and mine!).

Have a lovely evening

You can almost feel the love through your pictures. What a lovely family. I'm a wee bit jealous because our parents are so far away...probably why our immediate family is so close.

Hi Kathi, I glad that you enjoyed a lovely trip with your mom and dad. I extra happy that he's back into norm, it's very important to our parents that they are able to continue to do for themselves. Those waffles really looked good with the exception of the tabasco sauce. Kathi I hope that your day is going beautifully, take care. Deb

Hi Kath!
My husband puts Tobasco on everything, I hardly can stand that smell, boy what a grand time it would be to have them both at the same table for dinner haha!
Or breakfast for that matter!
I just love that picture of your daughter at the piano! I look forward to the day my daughter will officially take lessons, right now I am just teaching her a little bit myself.
And what a nicely combined Mothers day and birthday for them, I can see that they mean the world to you, what a lovely couple they make. You are fortunate to have them as they are to have you!
Love,
kelly

Hey Kathi Honey! I've missed you. I am going to take some time reading and getting caught up with you.

Jessica has such lovely posture. Tell her to keep that up whether she stays with piano all her life or not. Just gorgeous sitting there!

You parents looked as though they thoroughly enjoyed their visit with you.

Be blessed.

Thanks Kathi, for popping by my blog again! I've been hoppin' over to yours too!

I can truly see the love in your family, the love between you and your hubby, the love and respect your children's faces radiate. And how cute is your youngest boy with his daddy, what a pair! ;-D

I am a fellow admirer of those tea cups of yours! LOVE 'EM! I am going to keep my eyes peeled for some similar when I'm thrifting about!

I have to admit, I was sad at first to read that you were not going to continue homeschooling. But the more I thought about it, I was excited for you (and me), that we don't have to get "stuck" in a sterotype. Just as the seasons change, as we deem to follow Him, our seasons change too. It is life. And the very essence of homeschooling is loving life together, isn't it! It looks to me that you have done this so well already!

Okay, sorry for the long winded-ness!
