Today I'd like to show you my juice cups. I drank out of these at Grandma's house when I was a child.
This is a picture of my Grandma. She didn't like having her picture taken very often, and would rather show only her left side. She had a stroke at about the age of 55, which left her right side paralyzed, and her face disfigured. She was a kind and patient lady; godly and sweet. Some day I'll see her again and she will have a perfect face; pretty and able to smile at me.
Sometime before Grandma died she asked if I'd like to have something from her home. I felt sad to think about losing her, but she said she wanted to make sure that I got something that meant a lot to me. I mentioned those juice cups and drinking out of them at breakfast time. She was so glad to give them to me. I cherish these and remember her for them. She told me to go up to her attic and get the pitcher that went with them, which I didn't know existed.
I was happy to find out that a pitcher came with the cups, but thrilled for those cute cups. I am happy to have the whole set. I'm glad you could see my Fiesta cups and pitcher. Have a pleasant day ~ Kathi "Lord, You have assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure." Psalm 16:5

Really cool glasses!
Oh how lovely they are and how very special because of who's they were and your memories of them. Also enjoyed seeing the lovely picture of your grandmother. Yes, you will see her smile!!! What wonderful hope we have.
Susan
I too have a few wonderful keepsakes from my grandmother. One is a picture that hangs over our kitchen table of the Pilgrims during their first winter in America. My entire childhood the picture always looked over us above her kitchen table and since receiving it I have always kept mine in the same place. My son has recently begun to ask me about it, since it has a very different feel from most of the pictures we have hung in our home. He loves to hear the history of it and know that someday it will be passed to him.
Absolutely amazing! Wow....I would have grabbed them also, they have such a strong connection for you and your grandmother.
Happy Show n Telling ---
Happy Friday.
Hi - it is nice to meet you. I LOVE the juice glasses and especially the pitcher - sounds like my grandma, keeping something unused because it was too "special." Those are probably worth a fortune today.
Pea is a blog friend with a very large readership - she lives in Ontario and would love to share fairy stories with you. Her site is http://peascorner.blogspot.com/. She is a great blog friend. I mentioned her to Kelli in my comment because of her little fairy decoration that she shared this week. Pea even created a faerie (Canadian spelling) garden last summer and is anxious to get it going again this year, if it ever warms up enough!
Please come back and visit any time.
These are so nice and to be grandmaws makes them a treasure. Don't you think of her each time they are used. It is good to remember,

Those remind me of the colors my mom had of metal glasses we drank out of.
Love those memories.
Oh I just love them.I wished I had thing from my dads side of the family. I think they were poor farmers though. We lived away and the ones that lives close went in and got most all of it.
You have a real treasure.
What a touching story, and what great treasures! I think I may call my grandma today. :)
Oh, I love those old looking glasses and pitcher. I doubt they would last long at my house. We go thruogh glasses like water through a sieve! LOL! Beautiful story!
Oh, sweet grandma Margaret. I loved her so much. She was just the sweetest lady, so kind and gentle and gracious, but boy, did she have a hardy laugh! I love that Fiestaware! I have always admired it and am a little jelous that I didn't get it! That's okay, I have many sweet memories of grandma and grandpa in my heart and I do have a few treasures from her too. I am glad the you have it and that you treasure it so!
Love ya! Sharon
How wonderful! I loved the story you shared with your juice cups. My Great Granny had cups but they weren't the Fiesta ware (which I love). Hers were the old metallic kind. What a perfect Scripture to end with!

Your Fiesta set is highly collectibel and so pretty. I remember drinking out of those glasses at my aunt's place when we had lunch. I'm so glad your grandmother gave them to you and the pitcher is a plus.

Hi Kathi,
Your grandmother's juice set is beautiful. I enjoyed reading your story and after looking at the picture of her could almost see the two or you talking as you made your selection. She must have been such a wonderful lady.
I love the colors in the set and find it interesting. She must have been very cheerful because the set looks cheerful and kind.
Thanks so much for sharing something so special and personal with us today.
Hugs,
Cookie
