Today my six year old Garrett, went way out to the wheat shed, where our wood is kept. He brought this load of wood to the house all by himself. I was over-joyed and proud of him.
I paid Garrett one dollar and thanked him so much. He was very pleased, as he did not know I would pay him.
I told him to give one dime of his earnings to the Lord. He can do this at Sunday school next week. I remember my dad teaching us from the time we were tiny, to tithe. I can remember putting five pennies in the plate, after working for .50 cents. This is a good habit to extablish at a young age. Giving will be a joy this way and not a burden. The Lord really owns it all anyway.
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of your crops." Proverbs 3:9 ~~Blessings to you~~Kathi

That is such a great post! Garrett is so cute! I am so proud of how hard he worked for you thinking he would get no pay and how obedient and willing he was to pay his tithes when you explained it to him! That is wonderful! You are a great mother Kathi!
Love Sharon
What a hardworking and sweet son you have, Kathi! The pictures are great!
I saw your comment about how I get so much done and I had to laugh because I'm always thinking that I never get *enough* done! LOL Let's see, I don't have a lot of outside activities. I have a piano lesson once a month and Grace has an art class once a week. I don't watch any TV during the day and rarely in the evenings. I stay off of the computer for the most part until after dinner. Basically I sit down when we are doing our schoolwork and after that I'm always up and around. I split my house cleaning up over the week and do laundry as needed. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!
Hugs,
Kelli
