Our Easter Day...

Today is Easter Sunday. My family went  up to Buttercup Hill for a sunrise church service. We remember that Jesus die for our sins and He rose again the third day. He is alive and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He lives inside us by the power of the Holy Spirit and He is always with us. We are so blessed and thankful. Do you know Jesus?
I must be honest and say that this year I did not attend the service up on Buttercup Hill, though, I would have loved to. I just felt a bit behind in my duties as matriarch of our home. We asked my parents to come for Easter dinner, so I had lots of cooking and cleaning to do. In addition to this, my parents needed to be transported to and from our home. The drive is an hour each way.

I am so thankful for daughters who help me.

My husband and I went together to pick up my parents at their assisted living home.

My mother helped us with the gravy. She has always been such an excellent cook. I was glad she could join in.

My dad enjoyed getting out of his wheel chair for awhile and visiting.

We found that the recliner was more comfortable for my dad.

My parents loved the ham dinner. They both cleaned their plates. Mom asked for seconds. I was so happy about this.

My dad enjoyed reading my blog and my sister, Sharon's blog. I also showed him facebook. It has been a long time since he has been able to read any of these. We are going to make sure he can use a computer at his new home.
The apple pie that Jessica and I made was a winner, according to my dad.

Sadly, it is time for my parents to go back home.
I asked my parents if they wanted to go home on the fast free-way, or slowly down "Memory Lane" on the back roads. They said, "Slowly down the back roads," and that is exactly what we did. We took nearly two hours to get home. They loved looking at all the land marks and places they remembered so well. I took them by their old house that they lived in for 50 years. It was really sad for them. I prepared them that it might look different. It was sad to see them wishing that they still lived there. I let them look as long as they wanted. I was happy that they thanked me for showing them, even though it was hard on them. Blessings, Kathi
