Enjoying My Son Before He Leaves For College

Good Morning Dear Friends! Friday morning early I was scheduled to pick up my mother-in-law, Vivian, for her fasting blood test. I asked my son Harrison if he'd like to join us. We always go out for breakfast after her appointment.  Vivian is doing about the same. She remembers things from long ago, but her short term memory is nearly gone. This is so sad. We are so glad we can still do these short outings with her. We took her back to her retirement home after this and I then took Harrison shopping.
Harrison has a summer job so he pays for his own clothes, but we still help him with some of the basics like underwear, socks and jeans; things he really needs. We and also he have been saving for years for him to attend college. He moves into his dorm in one week, which will be so hard on me, "sniff, sniff."
He's smiling because he has his hand on a blue shirt he wants to show me.
It's "Spock's" shirt from Star Trek. He did buy it with his own money. Funny guy.
He felt right at home at Old Navy.
Every time I turned around he was doing something silly.
He was making me laugh. We had a great time together. Since he and Nikki broke up he has had more time to spend with me. We all miss Nikki, but know that there is a time and a season for things, and since he has got to be serious about college, this is pretty good timing. He is doing really well and having fun dating lots of different girls rather than being serious with just one.  I'm so thankful for him. Enjoy your day today!!
Blessings, Kathi

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,  nor stands in the path of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of the scornful;  but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season..." Psalm 1:1-3

Family is so precious, and what it's all about :)

It looks like a fun time with Harrison! He's so funny! He looks just like one of the mannequins! You both are going to be going through some big transitions, but it will all end up very well! I'm proud of him for starting college! I'm glad you guys got to have a nice time with Vivian too.

Hugs, Sharon
