Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Diamonds are becoming my best friend. Actually, not the kind you are thinking of. These diamonds are brilliant are fun to own, but I only have one of these true diamonds,  it's on my left ring finger. Don't need more, don't want more. The kind of diamonds I am seeking are  found in decor stores like those below. Yep, I've got my eyes on those, but this was discovered slowly. I have had a crippling fear of decorating most of my life. But, little by little I am venturing out to buy one or two items to bring me out of my shell. I've discovered a pattern; I like diamonds. I like them a lot, but didn't realize it. I knew I liked chickens, but was unaware that I had a thing for diamonds too.
I found this pretty tray at T.J. Max. Fearing rejection and afraid I'd made a mistake, I boldly hung it on the wall, and nothing bad happened. I hung a wreath over it and slid a table under it, and it looked pretty good. In fact I smile when I pass by this vignette.
It has diamonds woven throught the pattern.
Fearing I wasted money I still put this candle holder on the shelf with my beloved chicken. I liked it and later noticed it had diamonds on the red glass.
This is one of my favorite garden benches and here are the diamonds again.
I loved this rug for the chickens on it and realized it too had diamonds. "Duh!"
My, oh so dear,  favorite chicken has diamonds near his feet.
I am drawn to this window and take many of my photos near it.
I bought this planter and didn't even notice the diamonds until later. I just knew I loved it. How come I'm so thick and didn't realize this at first? Silly me.  I know I'm becoming braver with my decorating, step by step. I'm happy to report that the fear is dwindling and the joy of decorating is taking its place. I think it is because I've started buying the things I truly like. Also, a tip for those who share my ailment, become fearless. The walls will not fall down just because you hung a picture. With each successful attempt, creativity blossoms.  I will be sharing more of my hand at decorating in future posts.
Blessings, Kathi

There were white and blue linen curtains fastened with cords of fine linen and purple on silver rods and marble pillars; and the couches were of gold and silver on a mosaic pavement of alabaster, turquoise, and white and black marble." They always say buy what you love and you won't be disappointed.

I like to put my candles inside the old cheese graters. It makes a fun pattern on the wall. :)

I don't understand your fear of decorating Kathi because I have always thought you have done an excellent job. I think now what you are having fun experimenting with is getting further into the details that really make a room come together. I love your diamond patterns and I find that I am drawn to them as well. They add a certain classiness to any vignette! You keep going, I am proud of you!

Love, Shar

Isn't it funny how a person can be drawn to something without even realizing it? Your home looks lovely. I agree with Laura, just go with the what you love.
