My New Motto For Clothing Is: "It's Got To Be Cute and Modest"

Do you have a role model for fashion? I do. My role model is a beautiful woman inside and out. She's adorable and funny and she loves Jesus. Her name is Beth Moore. I am thankful for her because style and fashion do not come naturally to me, so having a person who is not only stylish, but modest gives me encouragement to try. More on this tomorrow. Bless you all and have a good evening. Kathi"Then the servant brought out gold and silver jewelry and articles of clothing and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave costly gifts to her brother and to her mother." Genesis 24:53Dear Reader, Please understand that my main focus and goal is not on clothing, it is on being a godly woman. This is just a side note on how I'd like to dress. I do not believe it is wrong to dress in a cute way. I used to think that it was so, that is one reason for this post. I'll get into this in more depth soon.

I could not have said this better: my goal is to be a Godly woman. Yep, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are taught that modesty in clothing is pleasing to the Lord and since I became a member I have to tell you I'm very, very modest in my clothing. I agree with you, sugar. Modesty is the goal for me - to please my Lord.
xoxo,
Connie

Kathi-
What a great post. I think that it is such a challenge these days, and something that I'm always working on as the mother of teenage daughters. It is possible to dress very fashionable and still be modest. I try to help my girls pick clothes they like, but often times I have to buy something else to go under a top or skirt to make it more modest. I often have to spend extra money to have dresses and formals altered so that they fit. There are many contemporary Christian musicians who have a really cute style and are still modest. Blessings-

I think how we dress can be a journey of sorts. I didn't wear pants for six years. I did not judge any others who did. I did not feel it was sin to do so though I think others thought I did. But I did not! I was being called by God to it for a particular reason of doing some work inside me. Just this year He okay'd me to wear pants. I have been wearing jeans for a few months now. And I have to say that I wear them differently...not so much in style but my heart is different. God works in people's lives in so many ways. I look forward to hearing what He is doing with you. Blessings sweet sister.

Kathi-
I just wanted to let you know that I have had to make my blog private again. I got a horrible comment from some creepy site wanting our pictures for their awful blog. I am so upset. I had just done a cute post on inspirational reading for girls. Anyhow, I am in the process of adding my favorite readers to the list. I have a feeling it was because I had the word girls in the title of my post. Have you had any trouble like this? Blessings-

Hi Kathi. Dropping by from SITS to say, "hello". It's always extra nice to "meet" another godly woman. Best wishes and thanks for the scripture. I just LOVE God's word.

For His glory,
Brook
