Boys Will Be Boys

Garrett did something by accident that could have hurt his eye or blinded him. He did not intend to have the rock he threw into the air come back and hit him so close to his eye. He just didn't quite understand physics. I thank God over and over again for mercifully protecting Garrett's left eye. The sharp rock came racing back to earth at high speed and hit him just below the eye.
Look how close that jagged rock came to hitting his precious eye. Yes, Garrett cried and yes, I thanked the Lord. Do you know I do similar things. No, I don't throw rocks up in the air, but I do things without thinking and I come close to disaster. Sometimes disaster does happen, but more times than not, God steps in and spares me. I'm so thankful. The pain I receive comes so close to damaging me, but God somehow spares me that humiliation or that severe permanent damage. I know that so many times God sends an angel and I am protected. "He will not let your foot slip--he who watches over you will not slumber." Psalm 121:3

Oh, that is way to close for comfort! I'm so glad it didn't hit his eye. I like the comparison to when we do things without thinking. Sometimes when I do something I have to ask myself what I was thinking! Good thing God understands us better than we understand ourselves! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Boy, that looks like it hurt! That is so wonderful that it did not damage his eye. I agree too that I do things that could be really bad sometimes and God has spared me too. My little Mary girl has little mishaps that could be so dangerous and I am thankful that the Lord is watching out for her too. It says in Proverbs that foolish is bound up in the heart of a child continually and that is so true:) Have a blessed day dear friend, Elena

Hi Kathi, I guess with boys you just have to get used to these things! I have 5 boys (and 3 girls but they are more careful) and at Garret's age it was a bruise or a cut or something every day!
Thanks so much for commenting on my blog!

Have a lovely (and safe) week!

Thank goodness it missed his eye. For some reason every time my four year old gets hurt he hurts his eye. Falls off his chair = black eye. Gets hurt going down the slide= black eye. Oh boys!

I'm so glad too that his eye is all right. That sure was a close call...I remember our boys doing things like that.
