Chocolate Almond Cherry Cake Recipe

" Mmmmm." So hard to resist. Chocolate Almond Cherry cake!
Okay, I know I should be eating snacks like these and not the cake, but you know what they say, "Everything in moderation." So, once in awhile I'm going to eat the cake, especially this one. My mother-in-law, Vivian gave me the recipe. Everything is dumped into the glass pan and baked.
Ingredients are: A box of chocolate cake mix, a 21 oz can of cherry pie filling, 1 tsp almond extract, 2 large eggs and one cube of softened butter. Pour the cherry filling into that glass pan, dump the cake mix on top of this, slice the butter into several pieces and toss them in, add the two eggs and the almond swirl the mixture around with a rubber scraper, just till blended. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 min.
When it comes out it looks lumpy like this.
Frost the cake with chocolate frosting. Here is the recipe: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter and 1/3 cup milk. Melt these ingredients in pan on the stove. Boil one minute then add 6oz chocolate chips remove from heat and pour over cake. Add a dollop of whipping cream for garnish. Enjoy, but only once in awhile. My whole family loves this cake.
Have a wonderful day everyone. "You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Wow, Kathi...this cake looks so yummy. I'm definitely going to make it as I made your carrot cake and that was great, so I know this will be too.

Kathi;

Thank you for visiting my blog. I am sorry I don't anything more current to post. I have had some family issues take the wind out of my sails. Your posts have encouraged me. You are wise and I love your reading your words of wisdom. You don't get that from the world. You are close to your LORD, what a blessing you are to your husband and children.

Blessings, Lori
