The Last Fun Days of Summer and A Bike Ride

Our daughters Victoria and Jessica checking out the shades at Claire's
My pretty Hydrangea
Our son Garrett enjoying our creek.
Stacey and Garrett cutting the field.
Apples from our trees. Our daughter Victoria picking beans.
Our daughter Jessica cutting beans. Jessica and me at the mall. "That wasn't funny, Jessica."
We simply had to stop for lunch while doing some school clothes shopping.
Victoria, Oh how fun!
Cute!
Jessica had fun trying on the glamour dresses.
How pretty!
I surprised the girls and told them we were going to see "Mama Mia!" They were excited and they loved it. We laughed cause the whole theater was packed with women.
We made another stop after the movie to buy the Abba CD. We listened to it on the way home. Victoria said something a mother always wants to hear. She said, "I am going to remember this day all of my life. This was such a fun day with you, Mom, and the songs will make me remember it. "
Another back to school shopping day; this time with Grandma Vivian. The girls spent the night with Grandma too, and had so much fun with her. They stayed up late watching Marilyn Monroe movies. We stopped in to see my dad and mom. My husband Stacey and son Harrison wanted to power wash his back deck. Garrett, our six year old, wanted to take pictures of Grandpa's yard.
Here is his front window box. I love the colors.
My dad, and Stacey watching our son, Harrison, work.
Harrison did a good job.
Grandpa and Garrett.
Bike ride in the big city.
The family. getting ready to take off.
And, away we go.
After biking we went to a favorite pizza place in the city and ate outside."May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Kathi, What a great post! Your girls were so pretty, all dressed up! And I laughed at the post in which you were giving them "THE LOOK!" LOL! It all goes by too fast doesn't it? Your creek is amazing!

I have a Sunshine Award for you on Tuesday's post! :) ~RHonda

What great pictures Kathi! You guys are such a cute family! I can't wait to see Mama Mia! Eric and I saw the play and I loved it! The ABBA songs are great! How neat that you made such a fun memory with the girls. I am getting sad that summer is over, I feel like it went way too fast and we didn't get to go camping or go swimming as much as I wanted. Oh well, time goes on and summer will be here again before we know it.

I love you!

Sharon

What a fun summer recap! It sure has been a family-friendly kinda summer...and those are the best kind!

I love what your daughter said about your Mama Mia day. It must have just warmed your heart.

Kathy, one of my good friends just bought a home/land in Scio. Is that near you? She is so excited and I am so jealous! She will probably be moved by the end of the year. I'm going to miss her terribly.

Hi Kathi, great post! Seems that you all had a very good time together! I loved visiting with your parents too. Now I don't know about the biking that's too much work for me. It seems that as a child I would ride for hours and get so much enjoyment out of it.But now when I try riding a bike I'm all shakes and it seems like I can't balance anymore. I thought I heard someone say that riding a bike is something you never forget. Well doesn't work for me. Deb

I must repent---I'm jealous of your green beans!!!!!!! :) That would be my one favorite staple in a garden if we could do one. I LOVE fresh green beans. It was fun to peek into your fun family times. When our girls were in Jr. High and first into High School we always took the birthday party girls to try on Prom type dresses. They always thought it was so much fun.
Being content, being content, being content, being content---this is me trying to be content with no green beans coming out of my yard. :)

Hi Kathi... as always, I loved reading about your dear family and seeing photos... so many awesome blessings you have! How precious that your time with the girls meant so much to them... making memories is fun!

Thank you for your visit and sweet comments... ~gentle hug~ ... my heart goes out to you as school begins... and my prayers, too... I could so relate to what you were saying about crying after dropping Jessica off... The first day Alex began his educational journey was a dark early Dec. morning... I had to put him on the bus in his car seat as he was only 2 years old... his bus ride was over one hour, each way for the next 6 years, Summer school too... well, that first day, as the bus pulled away and headed down the road... I crumbled and fell to the ground... there I lay, in a quivering heap of tears, weeping my heart out... surely I was going to die and doubt filled my soul as I questioned God about what I had just done... It truly was one of the most painful moments in my life... but now, as that very same child begins his College education, I no longer question God and my tears are now filled with joy and gratitude towards our Father! Kathi, it is my prayer that your heart and soul will find comfort as Jessica begins this new journey in life! God is good and I have Faith that school will be a blessing to all of His children. I'm keeping you and your dear family close in thought and prayer... God bless...

~hugs~

I love the montage of pictures and stories of what you've been up to! What a lovely family you have! It looks like you really enjoyed the day with the girls too. They all grow up too fast don't they! Even the parents seem to age too much when we don't see them every day. Hope your fall is as good as your summer looked to be!

You have a gorgeous family, and I love the photo shoot. One of the things I love about OR is that you can still live in the "country" without being too far from the "city".

Thanks so much for stopping by. I look forward to visiting again!
