All My Ducks In A Row

I've often use the phrase, "I've got to get all my ducks in a row." I guess the phrase means, to have everything in my life organized and running smoothly. Well, I don't seem to ever have, "All my ducks in a row." I used to get depressed when I looked at other wives and mothers who seemed to have it all together. God doesn't want me to compare my life with others. He wants me to give my life to Him and trust that He will help me, use me, and be glorified through me, so, I'm going to. He is faithful.

I don't think anyone ever has all their ducks in a row, we may think we do or look like we do, but usually there is always something. That is why we have to have faith in God, He is the only one in control and we need to trust Him. I think it is good to strive to have all our ducks in a row though and to seek the Lord as our guide as we do it. I like to have my life organized, but I really have learned to let go of my trying to control it and go with the flow. My main goal is to be a Godly wife and mother and to raise my children in the Lord, the rest is small stuff! I think you are doing a good job and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself.

My thoughts and prayers are with Peggy and Dave. Megan's picture was in the paper yesterday and she was a beautiful girl. It is so tragic.

I love you Kathi!

We never see the whole picture in others lives and I would bet, because you're His, that there is lots of cool things about you and how you function, in what really matters. Going with the flow--trusting Him--AMEN!

Yeah, it's really hard for others to live up to the good image I project- and even harder for me to live up to thiers. It's taken me a long time to realize this.

I've struggled with this idea of getting all of my ducks in a row too...and never seem to succeed. I finally came to a point in my life that it really just doesn't matter much anymore and I've let go...I don't always have to be the one in control anymore. It's very freeing and I'm able to enjoy life more. Why did it take me so long?

Your post is so very true and a great reminder for all of us. It's so easy to compare ourselves to others...I've fallen into that trap more times than I care to count! Thanks for sharing such a great thought :-)

Have a beautiful day!

*Ducks in a Row*..that's a old wives tale, maybe from Mother GOOSE...get it, ducks--goose..or duck duck goose...yep that would be more my life..
No such thing...we just keep putting one foot in front of another and giving the glory to the Lord.

I'm so glad God is teaching you not to compare yourself to others. I think we do that sometimes because we don't want to stand out too much (at least, that's true for me), but I believe that God wants us all to be unique--complementary with the other members of his body, but unique. If we don't each use our individual gifts, the body will be missing some essential parts.
