Farm Days and Truck Restoration

Here are Garrett, Victoria, friend Abby, friend Ann Marie, and my daughter Jessica. They are smiling because their two friends get to spend the night.
In the morning, I got up early and went out to my garden. Remember when I went out to work in my garden the other day? This is what I found!!! Beautiful red radishes.
While I was out here working, I kept hearing laughter and fun sounds coming from inside the wheat shed (steel building) to the right.

The sounds were of men and boys working together inside this building. What were they doing?
I walked in to find this. Two little feet sticking out from the truck and lots of busy work going on.
This is Garrett taking the bolts out of a tight spot. This is Harrison's truck. To save money on the restoration process, he is taking the fenders off himself, with Garrett's help.
Here's the owner of the truck, Harrison. He's pretty excited to restore this truck. He will have it painted and restored this summer; ready for school in fall.
It worked out perfectly that Garrett could fit in there. He liked being small enough to be a big help.
After taking these pictures I put all the girls to work helping me weed the garden, but I failed to snap a picture. The girls really helped a lot, and got the rest of the day off.
Bedtime. Garrett's having story time. It was a good day. I'm thankful for all the busy things that happen in our home. God is so good. Have a blessed day my blogging friends.

I love your blog and thanks so much for all of the advise. I am going to give her one more chance and if she does this to me again, then I am going to talk to her about it and let her know whats what. I hate to be mean, but you know I have to live to. I love the pictures of the little guy helping with the truck it is so precious!!

Those radishes look delicious! I used to have a garden when I was little and I can remember biting into the radishes and my eyes watering from them being so hot. I think it has something to do with how much water they get.

Oh, and you've been tagged.

It is so wonderful that Harrison is restoring a car. That is such good life experience. My husband wasn't raised with anything like that and he so very much wishes he had been. Hopefully at least some of our boys will find a car type mentor.

What a fun day. And your radishes are ready. Yummy. My garden isn't even planted. No use trying until hubby can fix the fence to keep the chickens out. The last two years I have planted and replanted. I decided to save myself the time and energy this year and just wait until it is "safe"!

That is so neat that Stacey has taught him all about how to restore a truck, what a great father/son project to do! He will be so cool in his neat truck next year!!!

I love you! sharon

Lord willing, someday I'd love a little piece of land out in the country. One thing I'd have to grow - tomatoes!

Hi Kathi! Ok, that looks like a 48 to 51 chevy truck. Am I right? My hubby is restoring a 51. The pictures of Garrett under the fender reminded me of an incident when Sydney was about two. I was helping my hubby line something up under the truck and next thing I hear is Sydney saying "hi mommy!" I looked up to see her head peeking through the headlight hole! She actually stuck her whole head through the hole. She was fine until she saw the worried look on my face - wondering how in the world we were going to get her head back out through that hole! Should have got a picture of it. We laugh about it now... What a fun project for Harrison. Can't wait to see it done!

PS Your radishes look yummy. I just thinned my new growth. I'm hoping I end up with at least one radish. hehe I struggle with growing things from seeds...

Kathi, It really blesses me to see pictures of your family, just being together and living life...cute pics of your guys working together, btw!

My parents always had a small garden when we were growing up so I remember pulling radishes like that. We lived in a subdivision (I do now, too :) so her garden was NOTHING compared to the size of yours! LOL

Have a great weekend (can't believe it's already here, can you?!)!!!
