My Kids Have Fun With Friends ~ Dinner & A Movie

Last Saturday my girls, Victoria and Jessica each invited a friend to spend the night. Of course the fun includes doing their nails. My girls are the ones with black in their shirts. The other two, Ann Marie and Brielle are left and right. These girls go to our church. This is the yucky carpet, which will be replaced when we fix up the room. This fun also included junk food: popcorn and frosting. Sounds yucky together, but go figure, they are teen-agers.
The fun also included inviting two boys from church, who are also our neighbors, Mason in front and his brother Morgan in the plaid shirt. My son Harrison is in sage green. I made them a roast beef dinner, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, corn and ice-cream and cake for dessert. They loved it.
The other fun thing was to have the boys stay and watch "Omega Man," which is an earlier version of "I Am Legend." I watched the movie with everyone, and of course we had more popcorn and pop. The boys drove home afterwards, and the girls slept in the family room, and were a bit scared.
This was a lot of fun. The next day was Sunday, so we drove to church and the girls' parents took them home from there. We live quite a long ways out in the country, so it's hard to have friends over. Church is a great way to drop off and pick up our kids for fun times. I'm so glad the two brothers who came over just live down the street, and can drive. I'm thankful for my kids and enjoy the fun they have with their friends and with me. This was a hard week, as my husband was in Singapore. Making the roast and having the kids over helped us not to be sad with Dad gone. Oh the good old days. I remember those. I wish I could have one that I had as a 12 yr. old.

Kathi sweetie, this looks and sounds like such a fun night! You are such a great mum! I understand about missing a husband while he's away working. I hate that part of the job. What does your husband do for a living? Mine is an Engineer in the agricultural industry. He designs these huge machines for stock feed mills, then keeps the machines running. Hope your dh gets home soon!

For a moment...it was as if you had entered my home and took pics! LOL! Our house is the gathering spot for teens. I love it. Never a dull moment that's for sure.

Looks like everyone had a blast! Wish I had been there:)

Hugs!
