Safeway Toilet Paper: How I Save A Buck

Okay, I bought some TP that was supposed to save me some money.
This is what irritated me: this roll was gone in two hours. Now I know we have six people who use the main bath, but two hours is ridiculous.
Here's my answer, it's Safeway's 1-Ply brand. Those of you who are softies and need cushy plush stuff may want to by-pass this post. Those of you who don't care and can handle Safeway's Sandpaper listen up.
This package lasted almost one month! Here I am caught by Candid Camera walking out of Safeway. Hey, it works for me.

Happy shopping! ~Kathi Note ~ I have a very busy day today so I'm repeating this post as many of you did not know me back in February and may have not seen it.

At the Hardt Haus we use the Trader Joe's bath tissue. Lasts a good long while and is less expensive than name brand tissues.

:o)

sidenote...today was extremely productive. amazing what one can do w/o focusing on blogging!

That is a great picture of you walking out of the store with your toilet paper! LOL! Too cute! We go thru it fast here too. I can't figure it out. The guys in this family must require a whole lot each time. Not sure why they need so much?!

Oh, I fogot to mention that 3 of us in the house are girls, so that does make a difference. Kathi

We are a Scott family. Over the years I've decided to pay the extra buck for something that lasts 3 times longer. I raised 4 girls and had to solve the dilemma long ago, so that was my solution.
It's my first time visiting. My dear friend Cookie is the reference point. I figured any friend of hers has to be all right. I've so much enjoyed looking around your site. And I see some familiar faces. I'll be back.

That is hilarious Kathi!!!! Oh my goodness, I don't think I have ever seen a post on TP! That is so true about how fast the roll goes with six people and it is madening! I found that Scott brand lasts a long time too and it is decently soft. Oh, the problems of a mother!!!

I love you! Sharon

I am with you, two ply doesn't always mean that it is valuable. We go through alot of toilet paper here and you get the most efficient for your money. Love your post, it is always refreshing to know that others go through the same situations.

LOL.. my hubby likes to buy the big double rolls. I tell him the grandbaby is still going to pull off just as much and waste it. I say as long as it does the job!

Haha, I did the same thing over the weekend. Yesterday I asked, "where did this sandpaper come from" She replied, "you bought it" OOPs. Well it will last a while anyway.

Safeway sandpaper! That had me LOL! I applaud you though sweetie, I am always looking for ways to stretch the $ further, but I have a 'thing' about scratchy feeling things. If it's going to touch anything sensitive on my body, then it has to be soft! lol Love the last photo!

I'm with you... I need something that will last more than a day...
and a deal is a deal...
and Julieann is right... women are the only ones who know how to put the roll on the holder...
I even have to fill the one at work most of the time!!!

I love "White Cloud"... the double rolls. I find 'em at Walmart. They aren't the most expensive, but they are just a little more expensive than Safeway. It's softer, but not like that fluffy pressed lint junk like Cottonelle and such. They last a good long while when I can get my kids to not zoom it off the roll just for the thrill of seeing it all come off!

You know what my Mother in law does? ... she is an "off the back" toilet roll gal and I'm a "off the front" toilet roll gal. So, every time she is here visiting (once a month or so) she will go and turn the toilet paper rolls around "her" way, just to irritate me. No kidding! She said so! Just to irritate... life is fun. LOL!

Happy papering... and I love your blog.

How funny. My parents used to by the cheap toilet paper for the kids and put the good stuff in their bathroom! :)

I'm for anything that saves me money right now! I've been pinching pennies so hard the last couple of years that they now are paper thin! Thanks for the tip. No Safeway around here but we do have cheap store brands.

I am definitly going to do that curried shrimp, yummy !
I wish you and Sharon could come with me to the Women of Faith COnference this weekend, it is going to be so fantastic !
IF it wasnt for you and your family, I would not be a Christian, born again, have my salvation secured and have a relationship my Christ. So to that I owe you a huge thank you. I may not have always appreciated it years ago, but I more than appreciate it now.

I wish I had stock in toilet paper, seriously! I'd make a bundle of money. I wish there was a Safeway's here.

I was wrong. I bought 36 rolls not 48. Maybe that wasn't a bargain
